Brookdale Cemetery was established in 1878 as a rural cemetery with winding paths, ornamental trees and shrubs, and a picturesque pond. Brookdale Cemetery is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is open to the public for visitation and research.

The main entrance to Brookdale Cemetery is on Brookdale Avenue. There is also an entrance on East Street.
