This is a popular recreational trail used by cyclists, dog-walkers and others. It is most productive in early morning.
This hotspot covers the Rotary Rail Trail (also called Lakefield Rail Trail and Rotary Greenway Trail) from Trent University north to Douro Ninth Line.
The trail is relatively wide and flat and consists of fine limestone screenings. It passes through a variety of habitats, including shrub thickets, shrub marsh, graminoid marsh and mixed forest.
