About this Location

Kit Carson Park is named after Kit Carson, a frontier explorer who lived in Taos in the 1800s. The park is located on the west side of town, near the Rio Grande. Kit Carson was buried in Taos after his death in 1868. His grave is located in the Kit Carson National Historic Site, which is adjacent to the park.
