About this Location

Bridge Street Cemetery was established in 1663 and is the oldest cemetery in the city. It contains the graves of many notable people, such as Jonathan Edwards, a prominent theologian and preacher of the Great Awakening, and Sylvester Graham, the inventor of the Graham cracker. 

Bridge Street Cemetery is located at 156 Bridge Street (MA-9) in Northampton next to Lampron Park and the Bridge Street Elementary School. The City of Northampton oversees the cemetery.
