Bird the brush along the roadside from the car for sparrows in the winter. (Dogs may be a problem if you try to get out.) Once you reach the lake on the right, pull off as far as you can and scope the lake. A scope is essential.
Ducks in winter. Shorebirds in migration. Sparrows (in roadside brush) in winter.
This relatively recent discovery is quickly amassing a large site list, including many tremendous rarities. Locals seem to be quite tolerant of birders scoping out the lake, which can vary dramatically in level from one visit to the next.
