Scan the lake for water birds. There is a bridge over the spillway under which Cliff Swallows nest each year. The treelike across the street from the field is a good area for Eastern Screech Owls.

This hotspot has a vantage point to see the edge of the lake adjacent to the dam. There is also a large field to the east, followed by a large spillway area for the lake.
