In the desert region of West Texas, cemeteries are a magnet for birds because of the human-planted trees and usually irrigated grave sites. A walk-about this cemetery checking out the trees--especially if someone has a sprinkler running--can be quite productive.
Bullock's Oriole has been known to nest in the trees in the cemetery. Other western species include Western Kingbird, Ash-throated Flycatcher, Curve-billed Thrasher and Pyrrhuloxia.
