The Amherst Dog Park is located on the former site of the Amherst Transfer Station and Landfill, which closed in 2012. The park features a large fenced area with separate sections for small and large dogs, benches, water fountains, waste bags, and agility equipment. The park is open from dawn to dusk, seven days a week, and is free to use. The park is maintained by volunteers and donations from the community.
