Muddy Run is a small stream that flows through the town of Ipswich. It originates from a wetland near Linebrook Road and Mile Lane intersection and joins the Ipswich River near the Willowdale State Forest. Muddy Run is named for its turbid waters, which are caused by the erosion of the sandy soil along its banks.
