With a walking trail just over a mile long around the South side of Ward Island, mudflats to the East, and beach on the North, the Texas A&M Corpus Christi campus can be a great place to bird.
Waterfowl, shorebirds, and in spring and fall migratory songbirds can be regularly found around the campus. Painted bunting and yellow-billed cuckoo can be found in summer.
There is a fee to park on campus and the Newman Student Center and businesses ask that non-customers do not use their parking lots but you can park at the side of the Ocean Drive around here: View Map and walk in.
