Stroll along a short section of abandoned old US Route 202 and over a floating bridge to the gentle rail trail with views of the Contoocook Marsh; following County Road back to the kiosk in the parking area creates a loop.
The nature trail travels south through the woods along the old US-202 roadbed before turning east, crossing a floating bridge, and striking the Monadnock Branch Rail Trail. A path to the marsh overlook continues east on the other side of the rail trail and forms a loop with benches and an excellent spot for wildlife viewing.
Walkers and bikers may continue north on the Rail Trail for a half-mile to the public boat launch at the end of County Road. Along the way, there is another conservation area known as Roger’s Landing to the east, featuring a small pond and pollinator habitat.
