Check the wooded edges of the parking lots at the Upper Valley Mall. On the north and the west sides of the large mall parking lot are wooded slopes with a good amount of Tulip Trees and Juniper Trees and dirt areas where Butterflyweed grows in the summer. Eastern Towhees can be heard singing here, and a Red-Tailed Hawk often perches in this area looking for prey.

The mall has lost its anchor stores but is still open during business hours for small businesses inside.
