Besse Park is well known for its public sport fishing pier, where anglers line up each spring to catch “schoolie” stripers making their way up the Wareham River. Visiting boaters in need of a safe harbor can reserve transient moorings and dockage at Besse Park, with a full range of services offered at neighboring Zecco Marina. Even if you’re not a boater or fishing enthusiast, you can still come to Besse Park to enjoy the water view or catch a fun community event.

Besse Park sits along The Narrows, where the freshwater Agawam and Wankinco rivers meet to form the Wareham River. This confluence of fresh and saltwater creates a rich environment where fish, birds, and other animals gather to feed. From here, the river flows south to the upper portion of Buzzards Bay, near the entrance to the Cape Cod Canal.
