Travel light, and bring water during the warmer months. This is not an easy walk if you go the full length, except if you walk one-way north to south (as noted below).

This is a long, paved trail that generally descends from north to south. There are sections that pass through beautiful mixed hardwood forest, and some stretches are beside roads through residential areas.
It might be suggested to arrange in advance a ride back to your car: park at the south parking lot of Distillery Bend (part of Beckley Creek Park), and walk down to the parking lot north of Pope Lick Park, behind the gas station off Taylorsville Road. This will avoid a long, uphill return trip. Alternatively, you can park at Pope Licvk and walk uphill to the north as far as you wish, then turn around.

This park is a popular and much-used part of the Parklands in Louisville, KY. However, there aren't as many parking areas in this park. Thus, we have opted to limit the hotspots accordingly.
