This site allows a long distance view of the massive number of birds that can be seen on the river below the dam. A Scope is recommended. There is a wooded area in the western area of the park away from the dam overlook that can have good land birds.
A large variety of wading birds, gulls and terns can be seen below the dam.
This is private property. Browder's Bait Shop sells access permits. March 1, 2024 access fees were increased to $9 per vehicle plus $3 per person. The access permit also allows access to a similar park on the Polk County side of the river and allows closer approaches to the dam.
There are no formal trails, but dirt roads allow access throughout the park.
