Great Meadow covers about 85 acres of wetlands, woodlands, and fields, and provides habitat for a variety of wildlife. The meadow is also a popular destination for hiking, birdwatching, and photography, as it offers stunning views of the Parker River and Plum Island Sound. Great Meadow is managed by the Essex County Greenbelt Association, a nonprofit organization that preserves and protects open space in Essex County. The association organizes guided walks, educational programs, and volunteer opportunities for the public to enjoy and learn about the meadow. Great Meadow is open year-round from dawn to dusk, and admission is free.
