Johns Pond is a 343-acre Great Pond with an average depth of 23 feet and a maximum depth of 70 feet. Johns Pond is located just southeast of Ashumet Pond and Joint Base Cape Cod. The pond has 4.8 miles of shoreline which is heavily developed with residential homes and beaches. The pond drains into the Quashnet River at the north end.

MassWildlife manages a paved boat ramp and associated parking area with space for about 10 cars and trailers located off Hooppole Road. There is no fee to launch or park. Cartop boats can be launched from the town beach in the northwest corner of the pond, a Town of Mashpee beach sticker is required during the summer.
