Walk the loop road and other marked trails within this shady riparian habitat.
Woodland and riparian species. Both Golden-fronted and Red-bellied Woodpecker have been documented here so look and listen closely.
Look for the Risien Park sign from Hwy 190. From the west end of Risien Park you'll find the back entrance to San Saba River Nature Park. Named for Mr. E. Guy Risien who was an early pecan grafting pioneer.
This is a small enough area and open under the tree canopy such that trails should be obvious.
