Tips for Birding

The entrance (and exit) road for Chinn Ridge are a one-way loop beginning and ending at two different points along Sudley Road.  In the middle, there is a two-way side road leading to the parking area.

There is habitat variety all along the one-way portion - woods, field edges, and a stream. So it's beneficial to drive and stop along that road, and along the two-way section as well. You can bird just from the parking lot, or (like all of this Park), begin walking trails in multiple directions. For one example, you can walk about 0.7 mile, mostly through woods and past a stream, to the New York Monument hot spot.

On the last part of the one-way section, the road crosses a stream, with riparian habitat.

About this Location

Chinn Ridge is a slight elevation rise within the Park.  The parking area along the ridge has views of fields and woods.
