22-acre Heritage Park encompasses the Salmon homestead and a museum, as well as the Chacoan Ancestral Puebloan ruins known as Salmon Ruins. Access to the grounds is permitted only through the museum, which is open 9-5 daily, although November through March sees shortened Sunday hours. A trail guide is available at the museum; numbered signs along the short trail correspond to entries in the guide. Many of the outdoor exhibits, including portions of the archaeological site, are wheelchair and handicap accessible. The non-profit San Juan County Museum Association operates the facility under a lease agreement with its owner, San Juan County.
The AllTrails website has a description and map of a hike at Salmon Pueblo Ruins.
