The cemetery is home to many notable figures, such as Nathaniel Hawthorne, Frank Weston Benson, and John Bertram. The cemetery features a Gothic Revival chapel, a crematory, and several mausoleums.
Greenlawn Cemetery entrance is on Orne Street. The cemetery was founded in 1807 but received a major redesign in the 1880s to bring it into the then-popular rural cemetery style, with winding lanes and landscaping.
