Narraguagus River

About this Location

The Narraguagus River flows into the Narraguagus Bay of the Gulf of Maine. The river passes through the town of Cherryfield, where it was once famous for its fly fishing for Atlantic salmon. The Narraguagus River still supports a native population of endangered Atlantic salmon, and has some of the highest densities of juvenile salmon in its lower reaches. The river also features a scenic rapids area called Little Falls, which is surrounded by 221 acres of protected land that provides habitat for various wildlife and public access for recreation.
