About this Location

This is one of a number of areas which are utilized extensively in the White River Valley. They are the Meeker Pasture SWA and Oak Ridge SWA. Within Oak Ridge SWA are many units. SWA is located in area of diverse vegetation: sagebrush and scrub oak throughout, pockets of aspen, pinion and juniper on hillsides.

BELAIRE UNIT: From Meeker, go 21 miles E on CR 8 to CR 17 (Buford/Newcastle Rd.), then go 1.5 miles S.

LAKE AVERY UNIT: From Meeker, go 1.5 miles N on Hwy. 13 to CR 8, then go 19 miles E.

JON WANGNILD UNIT: For Seely or Sleepy Cat entrances, from Meeker, go 6.3 miles or 16 miles E on CR 8 and look for CPW signs on left. For Kracht entrance, from Meeker, take CR 8 Efor 3.5 miles. Go E on CR 6 for 6 miles. Go E on CR 40 for 2.7 miles and look for CPW sign on right.

SLEEPY CAT PONDS UNIT: From Meeker, go 16 miles E on CR 8.

SLEEPY CAT FISHING EASEMENT: From Meeker, go 17 miles E on CR 8 to Sleepy Cat Guest Ranch

A hunting or fishing license or State Wildlife Area Pass is required.
