Birds of Interest

Neotropical migrants including nearly 30 warbler species and 5 vireo species. Swainson's and Ceruleans breed in limited numbers. Northern Saw-whet Owls can be found here some winters. The old mined area can have good numbers of displaying American Woodcocks in late February early March when they're moving back through.

About this Location

The Little Lick Recreation Area is located in the Daniel Boone National Forest in eastern Pulaski County. It has a campground and hiking trails. There's no potable drinking water or trash pickup, so plan accordingly. See these webpages for information on camping and trails:
