Byrd Park is a section of Richmond City with several birding habitats. These include three "duck pond" lakes (Fountain/Boat Lake and Swan Lake/Shields/Lake); a community park of roughly 100 acres (see Carillon); and a large estate of planted gardens (Maymont Park). These four hot spots all lie within a square which is less than one mile on a side, so you can park strategically and visit one or all of them in one trip. All four areas are conveniently connected by walking paths and sidewalks. A fifth hotspot (Pump House Park) is also adjacent to this group, but will be grouped with other hot spots along the James River.
