There are fourteen city parks in the northeast Modesto area, defined as the quadrant north of Briggsmore Avenue and east of McHenry Avenue. Bird lovers are encouraged to "adopt" a park or two in their neighborhood, go birding there often, and record their checklists on eBird. In addition to building an understanding of birds in your neighborhood, as you invite walking friends, neighbors, and children to become acquainted with their local parks you will increase awareness of wildlife, local parks, and green recreation.
