There are about twenty city and regional parks in the southeast Modesto Area, defined as the quadrant south of Briggsmore Avenue and east of McHenry Avenue (extended to the south). Bird lovers are encouraged to "adopt" a park or two in their own neighborhood, go birding there often, and record their checklists on eBird. In addition to building an understanding of birds in your community, as you invite walking friends, neighbors, and children to become acquainted with their neighborhood parks you will increase awareness of wildlife, local parks, and green recreation.
