About this Location

A quiet area off Highway 33 with extensive forest cover dominated by Lodgepole Pine (Pinus contorta) and Douglas Fir and active logging activity.  The area supports many small to moderate size lakes which offer good birding in the summer months, but freeze over in winter.

Mobile phone signal is available only in a few spots and visitors are advised not to depend on cellular GPS to navigate the area.  Also some sites are accessed by narrow roads through remote areas, and visitors are advised to travel prepared to deal with fallen trees, have recovery kit, food and water supplies.  Visitors in winter must be prepared for deep snow.
