About this Location

Islesboro is a town in Waldo County that consists of Islesboro Island and several smaller islands in Penobscot Bay. Islesboro has a history as a fishing and shipping community, and later as a summer resort. It is accessible by state ferry service from Lincolnville Beach, by private boat, or by air taxi service. Situated in upper Penobscot Bay, the island town separates East from West Penobscot Bay. Islesboro Island is narrow, mainly north-south, and 14 miles long.
