Ocean Shores is an area with several top hotspots. Refer to the individual hotspots for details.
Shorebirds, seabirds, vagrants.
Ocean Shores is a peninsula on the north end of the entrance into Grays Harbor. The area consists of a long sandy beach onto the open Pacific Ocean, the interior of the peninsula, and the inner shore of the peninsula which is largely a huge tidal mudflat. East Ocean Shores Blvd is the major north-south route on the open ocean side of the peninsula. Brown's Point Ave runs roughly north-south in the middle part of the peninsula, and several roads allow autos to wander along the inner part of the peninsula. The streets by-and-large are meandering and getting directly from one point to another is not often feasible. Enjoy learning your way around, and finding birds as you go. Ocean Shores is a popular birding destination on the Washington coast. Along with the rest of Gray's Harbor it can make a 2-day visit worthwhile, especially in migration.
