Located halfway between Petersburg and Appomattox Court House, the Sailor's Creek Battlefield State Park is a stop along the Lee's Retreat Driving Tour. The park is bisected by county road 617, and the child hotspots listed have designated pull-off parking in conjunction with the Lee's Retreat interpretive programming. Several sites highlight the various actions at the Hillsman Farm (which serves as the park's visitor center), Marshall's Crossroads, the Lockett Farm, and Double Bridges allowing the visitor to explore the unique landscape of Southside Virginia. The Double Bridges hotspot is owned by the park and open to the public despite being on county road 619 and outside the park boundaries. (See linked map.)
