Harris Hill Park

Tips for Birding

When submitting eBird observations at Harris Hill Park, it is most helpful to start a new checklist for each hotspot in the park. Use the general hotspot when you have a checklist that includes multiple locations or if no other hotspot or personal location is appropriate for your sightings.

About this Location

This county park is the location of the National Soaring Museum and figures prominently in the nation’s history of sailplanes.  Picnic areas are in a stand of Pitch and Eastern White Pine.  Around this are deciduous woods and grassy fields.

Tucked into the woods surrounding these developed areas are picnic pavilions, individual picnic tables and grills, and 400 acres of wooded trails for hiking and cross-country skiing. Don't forget to sharpen your ice skates for our two, large outdoor rinks, available during the winter months.
