This group of hotspots is part of the southeast Louisville area Parklands properties. It's a well-maintained series of locations for multiple uses. The Parklands properties have some restrooms, rental facilities, and wide, paved trails; check maps for specific locations.
These properties are popular and can be crowded with hikers, bikers, walkers, runners, and families; it's wise to check the Events Calendar in case there are running or bicycling events scheduled - and it's not uncommon for this to happen, and they tend to be well-attended in decent weather. When they do, they limit access to some birding areas and are de facto closed during those time frames.
Regarding the paved paths, they're great for birding, but please note they are multi-use. Pedestrians have right-of way, but it's best to be aware of who else is nearby if you will be stopping to observe birds. Be ready to react if you hear "one your left!" from oncoming cyclists. If you're birding in a group, please be considerate and avoid obstructing others' lanes - they'll usually thank you for the courtesy.
One other point, the paved trails are typically flat or with a very low slope, but some sections have a grade that may pose challenges to some people. There are benches placed along the path, but there aren't loads of them.
