There are nearly thirty city and regional parks within the city of Turlock. Many of these parks are eBird hotspots and are included within this hotspot group. In addition, the campus of Stanislaus State University is parklike and accessible to birders, so it is included within this group of hotspots. Bird lovers are encouraged to "adopt" a park or two in their own neighborhood, go birding there often, and record their checklists on eBird. In addition to building an understanding of birds in your community, as you invite walking friends, neighbors, and children to become acquainted with their neighborhood parks you will increase awareness of wildlife, local parks, and green recreation.
