The Hemlock Creek Trail is 2 miles long and connects Independence to the historic Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

As the trail profile shows, most of the path is sloped. Some sections are 11% grade. But, there are plenty benches along the way for taking a break.

The west end of the paved trail starts at Brecksville Road at 6801 Brecksville Road. Parking for cars is in the southeast corner behind the Cleveland Clinic Business Operations Center at that address.

There is no parking at the east end of the trail where it connects to the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath near the intersection of Canal Road and Stone Road.

There is parking for the Towpath Trail at Rockside Road to the north and the Canal Exploration Center to the south.
