About this Location

Pierce Preserve and Trails offers over 3 miles of unpaved hiking trails through very diverse terrain. There are more than 20-thousand square feet of native wildflowers planted within the prairie areas. In the creek valleys, you can spot frogs and toads. The prairie lands are alive with butterflies, grasshoppers, and dragonflies and native foliage at the Preserve draws a large variety of birds making this a wonderful place to bird watch. The preserve is open every day from dawn until dusk.

The Pierce Preserve and Trails is a newly developed park where community action turned a large Ohio utility company’s planned fly ash dumpsite into a nature preserve and walking trails. The park is managed by Pierce Township.
