Fanchion Lewis Park is a small park with hiking trails that primarily go through dense forest, but begin in scrub-shrub habitat. This makes it a good park for woodland birds, including warblers. There are a couple small ponds in the park, but they don’t appear to hold waterfowl, as they are small and hidden in the woods. No need for a scope anywhere in the park.
There is a small parking lot on the west side of Jones Road with plenty of parking, especially given the limited number of visitors. The trails are not well-marked, but essentially make one big loop through the woods, so it’s not difficult to navigate.
