Lake Saint Catherine is a lake system that spans the towns of Poultney and Wells. It consists of three parts: Lily Pond, the Big Lake, and Little Lake, connected by narrow channels. The lake was named after Saint Catherine of Alexandria by Jesuit missionaries. It offers many recreational opportunities for visitors, such as swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, and camping. Lake Saint Catherine State Park is located on the northern end of the lake and has a nature center, a snack bar, a boat launch, and a campground.
Lake Saint Catherine (883 acres) is a site for the Vermont LoonWatch annual survey. Birders are encouraged to volunteer as often and whenever they are able. See Join LoonWatch for details.
