Hough Pond covers about 16 acres of open water and has an equal area of adjacent marsh. The pond is shallow and has a silt bottom. It is surrounded by a forested watershed and a narrow, gravel road on its south shore.
Hough Pond (16 acres) is a site for the Vermont LoonWatch annual survey. Birders are encouraged to volunteer as often and whenever they are able. See Join LoonWatch for details.
