This park-like area between Marcum Conference Center and The Miami Inn at the northeast end of campus is a popular spot for leisurely walks, picnics, and outdoor weddings. Miami’s first president, Robert Hamilton Bishop, is buried in the Formal Gardens.

The rose garden area of the Arthur F. Conrad Formal Garden was the centennial anniversary gift of the Beta Epsilon Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta.
