Wayne Lakes Village (view from roadside only)

North Drive Greenville, Ohio 45331

About this Location

The Village of Wayne Lakes is a unique community. Decades ago the site was originally a gravel pit. Eighteen (18) lakes and ponds formed, and a small fishing community grew into a village with over 300 homes. Residents voted to incorporate into a village in the early 1980s. The village owns all the lakes. There are about 10 miles of paved roads in the village with pull-offs or parking places at or near many of the larger lakes. Fishing is allowed for both residents and the public for a small fee. Pine, oak, ash, maple, cottonwood, and walnut trees line the roads, making them wonderful to walk.

Birders are asked to view birds in this community from the roadside or parking areas. Please be respectful of private properties at homes.

Daily fishing permits may be purchased for $7.00 at the Bait Shop in the village where maps are also available.

Birders may contact the mayor of the village, Ellen Brown, 937-459-4111 (office) or 937 459-5644 (home) for information or with any concerns.
