The Scioto River flows 231 miles, making it the longest river in Ohio. It runs from north of Marion to the Ohio River. Scioto River watershed covers approximately 6,300 square miles in 31 counties. 95% of that area is agriculture or forest land.

Richards Farms, Inc. donated some 18 acres for the Elmon Richards Scioto River Fishing Access and boat ramp construction. The access is named in memory of Elmon Richards.
