The Lagrange Community Park has a 1.5-mile paved path that goes around the outside of the park. Birding here is best in spring and summer. There are three ponds, open fields, and a wooded area in the back. The park gets very crowded in the evenings after school with sports (it has several baseball fields). Mostly songbirds, swallows, and woodpeckers, but occasionally there will be some ducks and herons early in the morning… the most uncommon thing we’ve seen there is a Sandhill Crane (only once, though).

The LaGrange Community Park is a joint venture of LaGrange Township and the Village of LaGrange. The Park Board has completed a new parking lot with 465 spaces to serve the rear soccer and football areas of the park. This parking lot will also serve an ice skating pond as well as a sledding hill (both under construction) located in the rear of the park. More walking trails through the woods, football fields, and baseball diamonds are in the plans.
