Tips for Birding

There are two places you can park and enter the trail. One is where Scioto Run Boulevard dead ends. There is an official sign for the trail, which is maintained by the City of Hilliard. The other option is to park at the shopping plaza along Trueman Boulevard (there is a Staples there), then cross the road (Trueman Boulevard is a busy road so cross carefully). There is an entrance to the trail just on the north side of a brick wall that is along the sidewalk. There is no sign at this entrance.

About this Location

The Scioto Run Nature Trail is a 1-mile loop trail. It is located in a wooded area off Trueman Boulevard in Hilliard, Ohio. But you cannot see the trail from the road and there is no sign so when you turn onto Trueman Boulevard it will be next to a brick wall about 200 yards on the east side of the road. Your best option is to park in the plaza lot across the street and walk over. The trail has a dirt/grass surface and is easy to walk. I see many out there with their dogs, running and just taking a walk. It follows along a small stream and provides a few spots where you can get down to the water. One spot will be on your right as soon as you cross over the trail bridge. Lots of wildlife such as birds and small mammals. I did not see any deer or signs of deer but that does not mean they are not there. Great place to take a walk with your family.
