The Franklin County Sanitary Landfill is a busy operation and both London Groveport Road and Young Road have a lot of traffic. There is less activity at the landfill on the weekends.

From London Groveport Road turn into the truck entrance. Just before you enter the fenced-in landfill, on the left there is a concrete pull off that will hold two cars (see map below). Watch carefully before walking across the road to view birds.

On Young Road, there are two separate “gates” along the fence line. Each one of these has room for one car parked off of the road.

The Franklin County Sanitary Landfill is a municipal solid waste landfill designed to protect the environment regulated by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. Every year, approximately a million tons of waste is disposed of at Franklin County Sanitary Landfill.
