About this Location

Rolfe C Hoyer Campground is the largest and most popular place to camp in Greer. At 8,300 feet in elevation, this campground is host to 91 campsites nestled under the ponderosa pines. Single families to large groups flock to this site from mid-May through early September. Situated across from the Greer Lakes, many campers spend their days snagging trout or boating the calm waters. With Squirrel Spring trailhead just outside your tent or RV door, nature beckons campers to explore it’s terrain and view its wildlife. A short drive down Main Street (AZ-373) can mean a hot mountain breakfast after a night of roughing it in the woods. Offering hosted nature walks and programs at the amphitheater, there are a variety of activities Hoyer campers can enjoy. Fire rings, grills, and picnic tables are located at the camps, accessed by paved roads with parking pads. Water, toilets, and a shower facility are available here. Tents, trailers, and motorhomes up to 32 feet are allowed on these grounds, but there are no utility hook-ups.
