About this Location

The Raynes Farm houses the largest remaining farm in Exeter and is a physical link to our agricultural past. The site is open to the public for many activities like hiking, bird watching, and flying kites. As Exeter continues to develop it is important to maintain some perspective and remember the agrarian origins of the town and the natural resources of the region that allowed Exeter to thrive.

The Raynes Farm has roots going back well into the 17th Century. Due to its historical significance, the property and its structures require maintenance to stave off time and the elements. The first projects to be completed are a roof replacement, removing a silo, and rebuilding a barn opening.
