Tips for Birding

The best viewing area for the Findlay Airport is on the southwest side, in the area of the intersections of Township Road 76 and Township Road 81. In migration and winter, look for grassland species such as Harriers, Short-eared Owls, Savannah, and Grasshopper Sparrows. Meadowlarks are usually numerous along the runways. During wet springs, the fields on the south and west sides flood and are typically good shorebird spots.

Birds of Interest

Upland Sandpipers have used the airport in migration. Careful scanning of the runways with a scope at the right times of year may find them.
