About this Location

Shoreline Park is managed by the city of Sandusky.

Shoreline Park has picnic tables, shelters, grills, a play area, restroom, waterfront, fishing available, dog friendly, and ADA accessible. Enjoy sandwiches from Lake Erie Grinders. New playground equipment was installed summer of 2017.

The 8-acre Shoreline Park is located at the intersection of East Shoreline Drive and Water Street in Sandusky.

The park occupies three former commercial piers that were originally built by the Baltimore and Ohio Railway. Many goods, including crushed stone, grain, iron ore, lumber, and sand were shipped from this once busy port. The port was last utilized for commercial purposes in 1973. Shoreline Park was dedicated in 1990.

The park offers many recreational amenities including handicapped-accessible walking paths and an observation deck, playground equipment, a picnic shelter, a concession stand, bike rentals, and restrooms. Fishing access and scenic views are available along nearly 5,000 feet of the waterline. In 2013, a 550-foot “living shoreline demonstration” was installed at Shoreline Park, which provided soil amendments, erosion control, and planting of native grasses and sedges.
