In wet years, this old oxbow may hold water and become an ephemeral cattail marsh. It then attracts wetland species until it dries out again.
Private property--do not trespass. Due east of Sycamore Access on NW 66th Avenue. This spot used to be in a relatively quiet, rural area. The surrounding area has been developed somewhat, and this "lake" sits at the corner of what is now a busy intersection. The road has a 45 mph speed limit and the shoulder is too narrow to safely pull off. At best, you can scope parts of the area from the Casey's parking lot across the street.
